The Roccolo

Roccoli (bird snares) were a form of bird hunting with nets. They have been banned for some time as they could affect the reproduction of migratory bird species. Various different tree species grow in the rows of trees around the edge of the “tondo,” that is to say the clearing at the centre of the roccolo.

Try to match the leaves illustrated here with the corresponding tree to find out whether you can identify the trees that grow in the woods of Monte Ceneri. You can find the answers by scanning the QR-code with your smartphone.
